Being Less Self-Conscious & More Self-Confident

We live in a world these days were all we do is look for the approval of others through likes on photos, words of affirmation, and even comparing ourselves to what others are doing in their lives.

There seems to be this constant hustle to be the perfect versions of ourselves in order to please others. My question is, what are we all doing as individuals to please ourselves outside of what society thinks?

Just take a minute and think back 15 years when there wasn't this overwhelming umbrella of social media that sucks us in to showing one-sided versions of ourselves and calculating every little thing we put on the internet to make people happy... to make us happy.

Now, don't get me wrong, the internet and social media is a magnificent tool in terms of business marketing, news resources, podcasts, and blogs like mine that touch on the real things that we feel, but don't necessarily share.

We shouldn't be looking for other people's approvals as much as we need to find confidence in our own thoughts, actions, and personalities. We have to stay true to who we really are and the versions of ourselves that we are the most comfortable being. The haters will hate, but the haters don't matter!

On a personal note, many of you know that I have been looking for the job that is best suited for me and my interests. Sometimes in interviews I have felt like I have to put on an alternative persona to impress the people that I speak to. Yes, we need to be professional in this type of setting, although, if we don't show who we truly are, then why should any employer be confident that we are capable of doing the job.

Sometimes I struggle with self-confidence, as I think a good majority of people do!

To put how wonderful you are into perspective, think about how you act in the craziest of times and the realist of situations and who has stood by you in those moments. Those people love you for you! There is no reason you need to be self conscious because, in the words of Christina Aguilera, "We are beautiful / in every single way".

Look Forward, Be Confident, Stay Strong, Show Your True Self!
