Cleveland is definitely an underrated city in terms of places to visit! I'm not being biased just because one of my best friends lives there either. "The Land" has some pretty chill spots to hang with friends and enjoy the surroundings.
If you're a fan of the water, sailing, boating, rowing, or just being along the lake, then you need to take some time to visit! The waterfront is home to Yacht clubs, bike paths, and even what my townie friends call "The Stairs" which overlooks the lake. These are better known as the Solstice Steps in Lakewood, OH. It's such a beautiful spot to take your dog or young kids for a stroll.
Now what's more important than food when visiting a new place. NOTHING, thats's what!
What is the first place I want to go when I get to Cleveland. Without a doubt in my mind its Barrio. Home to some of the best queso I've ever had. You have to get the stoner queso. Its cheese with rice in it. It may sound drowse. But its like heaven on a nacho!
If you're looking for a place to get drinks with friends, be engaged in a fun activity, and enjoy a meal, Forest City Shuffleboard Arena and Bar is a trendy spot to stop and spend an evening. A lot of young people think that Shuffleboard if for older people. I am here to tell you that YOU ARE WRONG! Shuffleboard is incredibly fun, especially with friends and a nice cold beverage in your hand while playing. Make sure you check their menu before going because they have a rotating kitchen with different restaurants that come and serve food.
Whats Dinner Without Dessert!?
Mason's is a little ice cream stand with outdoor seating and amazing sweat treats. Not only do they serve us humans, but if you bring your dog, that pup will be living the life with a nice cold cream too.
Before you depart, take a wonder through the West Side Market to see all the fresh fruits, veggies, meats, breads, and pastries the many venders are selling. Maybe a little treat for the road trip home.
There is so much beyond the Browns and Cavs, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and The Cleveland Clinic. "The Land" has so many adventures that await you!
On the way out, make sure you get a photo with one of the iconic "Cleveland" signs. Myth buster: They aren't as big as they look in photos.
And With That I Say..... O-H.......I-O!
